Although the manufacture of current transformers was the original activity of the company, it was early in 1998 that Elektra Transformers embarked on its first project in the world of readymix concrete plants and related industries. This was not so surprising; both directors had been involved in the concrete industry for many years prior to the establishment of Elektra Transformers.
Their previous combined experience in the readymix concrete industry amounted to roughly twenty years, most of which was spent within the engineering department of one of the largest concrete companies in South Africa at that time. Between them, they had been involved in every aspect, from the design phase right down to the final automation and commissioning of the plants, and it was no surprise that this experience and expertise would at some point be called on again.
Today, Elektra Transformers is able to provide services and solutions to the readymix concrete industry ranging from the smallest maintenance call-outs, right through to the supply, erection, automation, installation, and commissioning of complete readymix concrete and block plants.
